4:331 – Darkness Leads To A Great Light

Setting

When you turn on the news or look at social media, usually the bleak amd darkness is overwhelming. Very seldom are the warm and uplifting stories shared and when they are, its called fluff. I was vlessed to visit my best friend today and learn about his life and the new people in it. Life is turning around for him and its awesome. Many of us walk in darkness, not knowing what leads us and what is next. For those in the faith, we know who banishes the darkness.

Today’s Questions: What lwass you when you are walking in the darkness? How do we follow God through the darkness?

Scripture

• Isaiah 9:2 – The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.
• John 1:5 – The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
• Acts 26:18 – To open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

Reflection

In my life there have been times when I have been lost in the darkness. As a child when we had no money and little food, I wasnt sure which way to turn. Before I found my wife, I never thought I’d be loved forever. When my health was rwally bad, I didnt know what way to turn. So many times that I coulsnt see the light of know how yo get out of the darkness. Since I’ve found Jesus, I still find myself in the darkness from time to time, but he is always there to lead me out. With my mental health, he told me not to stop fighting and look for answers. Now im inder treatment and doong much better. God always leads us out of the darkness, we just have to listen and act.

As we close, remember that the darkness may be all around you and your waiting for answers. Jesus will answer and lead you towards the light.

Prayer

Father God, thank you for new friends and new relationships. We ask that you bless, nurture, and protect them. Lord we also pray that you will help us to see the light in the darkness. Let it be you that leads us when we are waiting, lost, and hurt. Let it be you who leads us when we are happy, content, and productive. We pray this in your name, Amen.
