4:252 – There Is Always Game 3
#faithbites #faithjourney game
Setting
Tonight waw my eldest’s first volleyball match. They were excited and played hard. While they didn’t win, there was always hope. The wonderfil thinf about volleyball, is you can lose one and you are done. There is game two and a game three. Game three tells us that while we may lose some and may win some, its not over yet. We always have hope in game three.
Life is like that. Following Jesus isn’t easy. Somedays we feel like we won a game, then we get smacked down in game two. Other times we feel we arw losing but then turn it around. Game three is a great hope and worry in sports but not in following Christ. Jesus always wins game three and we win from following him.
Today’s Questions: When you feel down, how do you put your hope in Christ? When you are up, how do you put your hope in Christ?
Scripture
- Romans 8:38 – 39 – For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- John 16:33 – 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Reflection
Tonight, our 5th grade team mad eit to game three ans won. Our sifth grade team only got to game 3 and lost. They all did great. While they both didn’t win, they know there are more games and they are getting better.
i often feel that there is nothing I can do and everything is crashing down. But then I remember God’s promises. He said he will never leave us or let us go. Romans is very clear that no matter what we do. He LOVES us. In John, Jesus directly says that he has conquered the world. That means he wins all game 3s and all other games. In the end, what matters is your faith in Christ and his promises. We have nothing to worry about as we have our eternal champion. This doesnt mean we should throw in the towel but do our best with the help of God.
As we close, don’t lose faith if game one is hard or if game 2 isnt going your way. Jesus is our savior and always wins.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank you for allowing our teams to compete. Thanks for our coaches, officials, parents, and players. Lord even though both teams didn’t win, you are giving them great skills.
Father, you are the great victor. If we follow you, we know that you will defeat all enemies and remain victorious. We pray that no matter how big the obstacle is or how it looks like we may lose, you have us covered. Thank you, Lord. We pray all of this in your great name, Amen.
