4:77 – Abnormal? We All Are!
#faithbites #faithjourney Abnormal
Setting
Sometimes I feel abnormal. I don’t know what normal feels like but sometimes I don’t think I am normal. When I posted about this on Facebook, I had many supportive replies in addition to people questioning what is normal. Is being abnormal mean you don’t belong or fit in? Or is it something else?
As Christians, we know that we are uniquely and wonderfully made. If that’s true, then no one is normal.
Today’s questions: Do you feel normal? How does your sense of normal.reflect your belonging or fitting in?
Scripture
- Psalm 139:14 – I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
- Jeremiah 1:5 – Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Reflection
God made us unique. He knew us before we were born, he knows the number of hairs on our head and made us wonderful and his own image. We have nothing to prove to anyone.
It’s hard when we feel different, abnormal, or don’t fit in. As I’ve learned from my friends, we all all feel abnor Al and different. It’s part of the way we were made. We should embrace it!
As we close, remember that God made you who and how you are. He loves you and will put those people in your life whom you should be with. We just have to trust him.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank you for everything you give us and how you made us. Help us remember that you made us unique and special for a purpose. We pray for comfort when we don’t feel like we belong. You tell us you have chosen us and that we can never be separated. We love you and thank you for all of your promises. In your name, Amen.
