nothing to give
Dec 2 – Nothing Left To Give
3:337 – Nothing Left To Give

#faithbites #faithjourney nothing

Setting

Today was a bad day. Trivial in the grand scheme of the universe but bad for me and my reactions are bad. I almost didn’t share a #faithbite, but I know someone out there may need this. Even when I have nothing left to give, God always has more to give and is willing to give it to you.

Please put these words on your hearts and your lips.

Scripture
  • 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 – It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God. He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the new covenant, the Spirit gives life.
  • James 5:7-11 – Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!10 Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.
Reflection

Tonight, reflect on God’s word. Let it fill you up when you are down, empty, and discouraged. He will lift you up, empower you, and comfort you with his grace, which is sufficient for us.

Challenge

Give it to God.

Prayer

Father God, I am empty. I have nothing left to give tonight. My words are not coming out clear and are making things worse. Lord, I ask for your forgiveness and for the forgiveness of those I have wronged. Guide me, fill me, comfort me, and help me to rise from state. With you all things are possible. You provide words when there are none. I know I am not alone in this feeling. Reach out to your people. Let your children know they are loved, forgiven, and needed. We pray all these things in your name, Amen.
