3:210 – It’s Too Much
#faithbites #faithjourney much
Ever have a day when it is just too much? Nothing but, just a million little things. That’s what today was. Still stressed about a family situation, the kids, work, arranging my office, not feeling well, kids that won’t be quiet, food prep, etc etc. Nothing to really complain about but just too.
I know it sounds like #firstworldproblems because I have a job, a house, food, a family, and more. It doesn’t make it any less valid. All of us, no matter how “easy” or how “hard” our life is, has one of those days
Scripture
- Matthew 6:34 – “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
- Ephesians 6:10-12 – A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
- Deuteronomy 7:9 – Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.
Reflection
It’s funny sometimes when we first seem something we react one way, then when we see it again, we react a different way. When we look at the Matthew verses, it seems that we shouldn’t worry about tomorrow as we have enough challenges today and tomorrow will have it’s own. What it doesn’t say is that God will take care of those challenges as well.
We are never alone. We have the full armor of God to prepare, protect, and guide us through live. He will always fufill his promises for 1000 generations.
When we are having “one of those days” or “it’s too much”, know that nothing is too much for God. He can defeat everything. We just need to know that he is there for us.
Since I started writing this, I ended up playing dolls with my youngest. While I really didn’t want to, it cheered me up a bit and know that it will all be ok. That someone loves me.
Remember, no matter how dark the day, the light will come from the Son.
Challenge
Are you having “a day”? Know you are not alone and are loved. Take a minute to breath, to relax, and know that it will be ok. It’s never too much for Dad
Prayer
Father God, some days are hard. Today is one of those for many of your people. Remind us that you are there and you have given us your armor. Help us to not feel overwhelmed or exhausted. Be with us when we want to throw in the towel. We love you and know you will be with until the end of the age. In your name, Amen.
