July 5 – It Gets Better At The End
3:187 – It Gets Better At The End

#faithbites #faithjourney end

Have you ever started a show or a movie and wanted to turn it off because it was bad only to hear a friend say it will get better at the end? How about going through detox from medications? Knowing how terrible it is but if you make it through to the end, you will feel better.

Right now, I’ve been detoxing from political commentary and was asked how I feel. The answer is a bit mixed. I feel a little better but also stifled in my speech. But is this a case where God is telling me to choose a slightly different approach and it will be better in the end?

Our treasure is after this life is over. Jesus tells us that life will be tough and we will be rewarded in Heaven. Are you ready for that reward?

Scripture
  • Luke 4:40 – Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to him, and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.
  • Romans 8:28 – And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Reflection

Does it get better at the end? In our Luke passage, we see people being healed by Jesus at sunset. The day was ending. In Romans, we see that those who love Good will have all things work together for Good. That doesn’t mean there won’t be bumps and bruises along the way, but in the end, it will work.

I don’t know if this is helpful or not, but though our journey is long and winding, we will be rewarded. No matter how hard our life is, if we trust in Jesus, it will work out in the end. I can’t say the same for that movie or show your friend wanted you to stick through with it, but with Jesus, I am sure.

Challenge

Don’t give up. It will be a hard road, but God is with you all the way. Stick with him and it will be much better in the end.

Prayer

Father God, thank you for assuring us that though this life is hard, the end with be worth it. Help us when we doubt and when we get stuck in the muck of daily life. Remind us that it will be worth it if we stick with you always. Thank you Lord. In your name, Amen.
