3:108 – We’re All In This Together

#faithbites #faithjourney #Disney all

Last night, we danced and sung to the Disney Family Sing-A-Long. It features the reunion of the High School Musical Cast singing We’re All In This Together.

This is as true now with COVID-19 as it was then. And while we, to quote Reel Big Fish, are all different notes but we’re in the same song, we experience things differently.

Some of us are only minorly impacted by the pandemic, others are losing their income and some their lives. So yes, we are in this together and should help each other no matter how we are being impacted.

Scripture
  • Ecclesiastes 4:10 – 12 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
  • Hebrews 10:25 – Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
  • Provers 15:22 – Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.
Reflection

As the late Bill Withers sang, “Lean On Me, when you’re not strong, and I’ll be you friend.” We are told specifically to offer counsel, to lift each other up, and to come together as a people.

It doesn’t matter if you are hurting a little or a lot as we all have sacrifice. We shouldn’t compare how bad it is. What we should do is look to how we can lift up each other, no matter their sacrifice.

We need to find ways to help those around us. Let’s create a stronger community and a stronger family in Christ as we make a threefold cord.

Challenge

No matter how you are hurting during this time, some have it better and some have it worse. Find one way to help one person. Try not to compare your situation with theirs but look with loving eyes and find a way to help them.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, you people need you. Help us to know the best ways to help our brothers and sister no matter what their situation is. We need your guidance and love as we all get through this storm in different boats but together. In your name, Amen.
