3:86 – So, We got a Dog!
#faithbites #faithjourney dog
Yes, I love dogs and have wanted to have another one for a long time. Tonight, I had three girls “twist my arm” to get a dog. So we have a new Pembroke Welsh Corgi and his name is Mr. Spock. He’s 9 weeks old and is super cute. We figured if we are in social isolation, now is as good as time as ever to get a new member of the family.
God made all the animals on earth for people to rule over. They give us so much love and companionship. Let’s take a moment to thank God for his creation.
Scripture
- And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. – Genesis 1:24-25
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” Now out of the ground the Lord God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. – Genesis 2:18-19
- “But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind. – Job 12:7-10
Reflection
We see God created all manner of beasts so we would not be alone. He also created them for a purpose. We should learn from all of the beasts, birds, bushes, and fish. They will tell you about our Lord. The magnificent creator of everything. How blessed are we?
Now, I know it’s not going to be all sunshine, unicorns, and puppy dogs. Mr. Spock and I will have some words and I have a feeling I will be up early in the morning. Knowing that God made him and he can teach me a lesson, is something that will keep me going.
How you all enjoy the doggo pictures.
Challenge
What can you learn from the animals? Find one thing and share it with someone. Know that the Lord is present in all things in creation.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for your creation. We often over look the beasts and the birds that you have made for us. Help us to be kind, gentle, and loving to them. Let my family enjoy Mr. Spock and learn from him. We all can learn from your creation. Thank you for your blessings. In your name, Amen.
