3:84 – Am I Out of Prayers For The Day?

#faithbites #faithjourney prayers

I often wonder if I’m the only parent who needs a break from their children. It seems as if the “Daddy, daddy, daddy, I want, I need” never ends. Then when you say no, it’s the end of the world. If you say yes, you are the best person in the world for a couple of minutes. With this quarantine lifestyle, the ratio of Daddy Daddy’s to minutes is greatly increased.

We call God “Our Father” and the imagery is correct. We go to him all day and ask for things. When we get it we are happy until the next thing, if we don’t get it, we blame him. I’m beyond blessed that God never ceases to hear and answer my prayers.

Scripture
  • And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. – 1 John 5:14-15
  • Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear. – Isaiah 65:24
Reflection

God knows what we want before we do and hears it before we say anything. He never says that we are limited in the number of prayers we can have. In fact, he says pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17). In 1 John, it speaks of our confidence in praying that he hears them.

I’m glad that we don’t have a prayer quota as I would be way over mine. Unlike being an Earthly father, God doesn’t need the break. He is ready, willing, and able to listen to us around the clock. We just need to ask.

Challenge

When was the last time you prayed? Maybe you stopped because you didn’t think God answered. Maybe because you didn’t think you were worthy. Know that you God loves you and is ready to hear all prayers.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, we thank you for hearing our prayers. You are our bridge to the Father. We are so blessed that you never tire and are always ready to hear our prayers. Help us to seek your counsel, give thanks, and ask for what we need. You will always answer in your time, at your will, and in your way. Help us to be more like you as we father our own children and serve as role models. In your name, Amen.
