Happy Leap Day. Ok, it’s just like any other day, but one we only see every four years. Lots of talks about doing crazy things, only having a birthday once every four years, and all that fun stuff.

A new phenomenon, is people saying that you won’t see the posts you make on Facebook today, for another four years so do something interesting.

What if we made today a challenge. A day, not to make baby steps, but big strides in your faith journey. What would you do that would set up up for the next four years and beyond?

Scripture

• Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. – Proverbs 3:5-6
• May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. – Romans 15:13

Reflection

What ever bold action or step you take for leap day, trust in the Lord. Consult with God, listen to him, and then jump. He will be your net, your rope, and your power to accomplish all things.

It’s not easy to take a leap when we are used to taking baby steps or not moving at all. But don’t worry, you’ve got the most powerful, perfect, God on your side. You will succeed.

Prayer

Lord, help us to take a bold leap. We want to do everything you want us to do and be closer to you. Take away our fear and enable us to leap, knowing you will be there to catch us. In your name, Amen.
