3:23 – Kids Are Gifts

#faithbites #faithjourney kids

I’ve been spending a lot of time with m kids lately as they’ve been sick. There are times when they drive me crazy, but most of the time I am so thankful for them. Lots of work, but so worth it.

My wife and youngest were watching Coco yesterday and she made an observation. When Miquel goes to the land of the Dead, there are no children. I know it’s a Pixar movie so they probably didn’t want to go there, but rest assured, the children are gifts from God and have a place with Him

Scripture
  • But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 19:14
  • And said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. – Matthew 18:3
  • All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children – Isaiah 54:13
Reflection

Children are gifts. They will have the peace of the Lord as will adults. Jesus says to let them come to him.

Our job us to raise them up in Christ. Sometimes its easy, sometimes not. But remember, the have the same inheritance in Christ as we do. We may not want to think about Children and Heaven, but part of our job is to ptepare for all circumstances.

Let them come to him.

Challenge

How can you prepare those children in your life to know Jesus? It doesn’t take a lot. Share him through your actions and words. Make a plan..

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank you for our children. Help us to raise them up right. While we dont want to think of children in heaven, we know that you love them, and have a room for them. Be with us as we try to emulate you. In your name, Amen.
