2:342 – Celebrate Life

Today, my eldest turns 10. I can’t believe 10 years has come and gone since she was born..part of me can’t imagine what life was like before being a dad. All kidding aside, it’s been one of the most difficult, loving, rewarding, stressful jobs ever. I know that even though we disagree on things, there is a deep bond of love between us.

Today, we celebrate her life. We tried for a year and a half to get pregnant with no luck. Then my dad passed away, and a few weeks later, my wife was pregnant. God works in mysterious ways. I know ok ne thing, every life is precious, has purpose, and is valuable.

I thank God everyday for her.

• Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. – Psalm 127:3
• Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5

Reflection

All life is sacred. God created us, knew us, has a plan for us, and wants us. My daughters will go on to do great things.

Right now, my wife and I are stewards of them. Helping them grow in God and learn his ways. There will be a time when we are no longer their stewards on a daily basis, but still have influence over them.

As part of God’s plan, we have the honor of speaking life into them, their children, and their grandchildren. We need to realize this amazing gift and responsibility God has given us. Now matter how hard things are, we should celebrate their life.

Thank you Lord for blessing us with first and second birth.

Challenge

You have a great honor to radically effect someone’s life. When you celebrate all life, you can speak to them. No matter if they are your kin or your friends, or someone you met on the street, you can influence them. Be a steward of life and help.

Prayer

Father, thank you so much for our eldest. While life is sometimes a challenge, help us to always celebrate the blessing that it is. When it is hard, remind us that you have given us the gift of life to influence others and be stewards of everything here on earth. I am so blessed to be a father to two, as well as influence thousands more. Lord, be with us as we celebrate your creation and life everywhere. In your name, Amen.
