2:323 – Reboot or Reload?
#faithbites #faithjourney reboot
I’m a computer geek. Anyone in the tech field, or heck anyone in general, knows, that if a computer doesnt work, just reboot it and it usually fixes it. In other words, turn it off and back in and your golden.
In rare cases, a full reload is needed. Files are corrupt, programs are crashing, and nothing is working.
In life, many times, we just need to reboot but we think we need to reload. Basically, when something doesn’t go right, we think we need to throw everything out and start over. It’s easier to start over than fix what is broken. But most times, all we need is to breathe, unplug, and start again.
Scripture
- I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint. – Jeremiah 31:25
Reflection
We have faith in Jesus. That is our operating system. We won’t be corrupted. But just like any worker, we need rest. We need to unplug, be with our Lord, and get back to work. Jesus loves us and will refresh and satisfy us.
The world may say our values are wrong. They may say that we need to believe everything in the world and turn our eyes away from God. They may say if your God is so great, why do all these bad things happen?
For me, I know this wears on me. Not that I need a reload, but I need a reboot. A rest and reload. Like fuel in a car, food in our belly, supplies for construction. We all need it.
Jesus gives it freely. We just need to unplug and reboot.
Challenge
How will you reboot? You are a great child of the Lord. Just unplug and take his rest.
Prayer
Lord, we are all broken, hurting, and tired. Serving you is constant warfare from the world. Many tell us we need to turn away from you and accept the way of the world. We dont need to reload, just reboot. Help us to unplug and be refreshed. We love you Lord. Thank you for everything you do for us. In your name, Amen.
