2:238 – Making A List
#faithbites #faithjourney list
It’s easy to get distracted with so many things going on in our lives. Today, I was in a lot of pain, but knew I had to go to work. When I got to work, I created a list, and just worked down the list. Working from one task to the next to the next. Before I knew it, most of the day was gone and I wasn’t thinking about the pain. Of course, your can’t do this everyday, but it is a good way to focus.
How do you concentrate on what you need to do with so many distractions? Do you create a list? Do you have a center in faith?
Scripture
- Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. – Colossians 3:2
- Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. – Proverbs 4:25
- Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. – Proverbs 16:3
Reflection
For my pain, I made a list to focus for the day. In scripture, we are told that focus on the heavens. God wants us to look forward and work for the Lord.
It’s easy to look side to side and get distracted. For us to stay focused and look forward, we need to trust in the Lord. It’s not easy to keep on message and keep on track, but through prayer and repetition, we can succeed.
Charge
Do whatever it takes to be focused. Make a schedule. Write a list. Whatever it takes. Make sure to add time to converse with the Lord.
Prayer
Lord, help us to stay on track. Give us the tools to look away from temptation, pain, and other distractions. You are all powerful and know how easy it is to be pulled of course. Be with us all the days of our lives and help us stay the course. Thank you, Lord. In your name, Amen.
