2:205 – Love Us Universal
#faithbites #faithjourney Universal #DisneyDreaming
Today was Epcot Day. Not only were we walking around the world, there we people from all over the world. Different colors, languages, religions, relationships, backgrounds, and more. While it would seem that these people have nothing in common, at the very least, they showed love.
It didn’t matter where they were from, what language the spoke, they had happiness, fun, and love for the day. They also had the same problems with kids running around, little spats, sweating to death, and a bit of grumpiness. And yes, we saw Grumpy at dinner. All in all, everyone was happy to be here and share in fun and love.
Imagine if we could replicate that everywhere…
Scripture
- God has made from one ancestor every nation of humankind to live over the face of the whole earth. He set the times and limits of their habitation. He decided that they should seek the Lord, and have the chance to feel for him and find him. Indeed, he is close to each of us for in him we live and move and exist” – Acts 17:26-27
- God loves everybody, including you, and you, and you. But you have to “keep yourselves in the love of God” – Jude 1:21
Reflection
We are one people from a common ancestor. God loves us. Yes, we should seek the Lord and learn from him. But for those who don’t, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love them and we shouldn’t love them. No matter what they do, we show love.
Today was remarkable to see this in action. Sure, it’s a manufactured experience, but the way that everyone is similar showed much more than how everyone is different. Turn to love, and the differences fade away.
Charge
Look beyond skin, beyond nationality, even religion. Remember that there is more that ties us together than separates us.
Prayer
Lord, you made us from one person. We are one people. Help us see past our differences and into your face as we are one. Remind us that we are more alike than different. We all love the same, cry the same, hurt the same, die the same. We are your people, help us to remember this always. In your name, Amen.
