2:98 – When It Finally Clicks
#faithbites #faithjourney #RoadToEdD clicks
Does life ever feel like it’s an uphill struggle? That no matter what you do, it seems like you just don’t get it?. Sometimes though it all just ckicks.today, I was working in a presentation for a workshop I am leading tomorrow. It is based in the material from my doctoral program. When I showed it to a colleague and we talked through it, everything just clicked. I saw how to improve it, e saw where my program has led me, and how I can share it with others.
Likewise, during our doctoral class tonight, my instructor called me out in a good way. She said my methodology chapter, which I sent for an early review looked good, was well thought out, and was on track. All my previous work, clicked. It’s been a good day.
Faith is like that. You go through periods where things don’t make sense or you question everything then boom, it clicks and you understand what God has in store or what he is trying to teach you.
Scripture
- All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, – 2 Timothy 3:16
- The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law. – Deuteronomy 29:29
Reflection
Let’s dig into this a bit. We know that all scripture is from the Lord and should be used for teaching, discussing, correcting, and rebuking. We trust it because we trust the Lord. But even then some things may be confusing to us. We can read a passage over and over and get different meaning or one day it just clicks.
We know the Lord has secrets that we don’t know. His absurd love and grace us well beyond human understanding. But then, when the tine is right, through the Holy Spirit, boom, we get it. He has revealed His truth to us.
I’m not always patient. There are times when I want to know right now. Like back in January, when I was so frustrated with my dissertation that I just wanted to get it. And now, I have. I understand.
Sometimes we just need to trust our advisors, in this case, the Lord, that it will all make sense.
Charge
Are you frustrated with not knowing? I’d there a specific passage or passages that confuse you? Look to the Lord for help. Examine passages around it. Ask others who study His Word. Read trusted commentary. Pray on it. It will click when the Lord chooses to reveal it to you.
Prayer
Gracious, merciful God. Thank you for your word. Thank you for the mystery that is you. We may not understand your plan or your secrets but we trust you. Give us the patience to know that you will reveal your plan and your meaning when the tine is right. You will make sure everything clicks for us. We are very thankful for you love, Amen.
