307 – You Will Be Blessed
#faithbites #faithjourney Blessed
Life, like faith, is a journey. We come and we go. We learn and we teach. Always changing but always staying the same. I know I probably sound like a fortune cookie but bear with me.
Tonight, my wife and I were walking through Hobby Lobby and I saw a sign that had today’s scripture on it “You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out” – Deuteronomy 28:6. I probably have seen verse before but it didn’t register until today. So many times we think we are blessed when we get something or win something. (The going in). But when we leave, it is usually a sad thing. We are leaving behind something. What if we thought about opening doors and closing doors in the same light. That we are being blessed with new opportunities and new challenges. If we looked at life like that, would we have a better appreciation for what God has given us?
Scripture
- You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. – Deuteronomy 28:6
- the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. – Psalm 121:8
Reflection
Not only do we see that we will be blessed in our comings and goings but that the Lord will watch over us both now and forevermore. We have nothing to fear when we look at the world this way. God is watching us and he will bless us.
There are many times in my life when I have fear. Will I finish this dissertation (my comings)? Will it lead to something better for my family (my goings)? If I make this choice rather than that choice, am I doing what is right?
I have faith that the Lord knows the answer. He will make sure that my choices are good and that I am blessed. He is always watching, blessing, and protecting.
Charge
Do you think about your comings and goings? Do they concern you or worry you? Are you losing sleep over your choices? Think about the Lord watching you when you come and when you go and all the while he is blessing you. Don’t forget to take time to feel his blessings and know that if you make your choice in good faith, he will bless it.
Lord, give my friends, family, and I blessings. Watch over us as we come and go. Give us the strength to continue on your path.
