August 28 – Let’s Play A Game
240 – Let’s Play a Game

#faithbites #faithjourney game

Today, I had the pleasure of hanging out with a 19 year old who just wanted to play with my youngest when she was home sick. She didn’t want anything just the chance to hang out and play. Several times she mentioned she liked to buy toys, play with toys, and felt she shouldn’t be at 19. My response was don’t give up your youth. Enjoy play

I personally love to play. Be it a.video game a board game, puzzles, or just being goofy with toys. We think toys are a child’s thing but they give us such Joy and bring us back to the basics. And guess what? Being child-like is biblical.

Scripture on Being Child-Like

And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets. – Zechariah 8:5

Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it. – Luke 18:17

Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. – Matthew 18:4

Reflection

Streets filled with children playing. Humbling yourself like a child. Receving the kingdom of heaven like a child. These are powerful images that help remind us of what we are: Children of God.
We are told to play, sing, dance, be humble, and respect our father and mother. I’m betting by father, our heavenly father is covered in there.
Buy a child’s toy and play with it. Enwtwr and enjoy your faith as a child when everything was new and wonderous.
Keep humble, rejoice, and enjoy.
And yes, I play Barbie’s with my daughter. We make silly stories and have a great time. That play helps restore and builds relationships

Charge

This charge is easy: Play. Get a toy or a game. Go on out and horseplay in the pool. Play a sport. Just get out. And when you are doing that, remember how you feel. Take that energy and new found peace and thank the Lord for that.

Lord, let me love you like a child. Let me remember what it is to be a kid and just play
