August 3 – You Really Matter
215 – You Really Matter

#faithbites #faithjourney matter

Today was a mixed bag of a day for me. My knee was driving me crazy, I ticked off someone by trying to help, and another person gave me feedback on someone else questioning what I was doing. That on top if not sleeping well, getting ready for vacation, and having a crazy work week.

I was feeling pretty down. Then the same person, who gave me feedback, told me how much I matter. She said that I truly make a difference with our students, she loves working with me, and I have a great calming presence. In short, I matter.

Ok, you may say that’s one person’s opinion. To me, that is a person I respect, so I will take that as great feedback.

We all have good and bad days. There are times when we don’t feel like we matter. The fact is, you do. The world would not be the same without you.

Scripture about Mattering

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save,  he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing – Zehaniah 3:17

For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in. – Psalm 27:10

Reflection

Ok, this isn’t a pity party, just a down day. But as always, scripture helps. In Zehaniah, we see the Lord rejoicing over YOU. We loves you just the way you are. In Psalms, even if you are rejected by the world, the Lord will take you in.

We are an important part of his family. Even when we mess up it feel unimportant, we are. Something to think about, even if you don’t believe in God, there are others around who love you, respect you, and want you around.

Charge

When you feel down, look to the Lord for comfort. He will guide you, comfort you, and protect you.

I will continue to look to the Lord for comfort and listen to those around me who respect and appreciate me.

P.S My oldest picked out today’s pictures and wanted me to share that with you.
