April 12 – Let your Soul Shine

#102of365 #FaithBites #FaithJourney

Today’s lesson is about your soul and letting it shine. Spring may have finally sprung here in Central Illinois. I have my windows open, a short sleeved shirt on, had a potluck at work, and life is great. I know it’s not great for everyone. I had a really rough night with a screaming child in pain and nightmares. It was rough. I could focus on my lack of sleep, my lack of being prepared, but instead, I need to just let me Soul Shine.  As the Allman Brother’s Band sing:

“Just like my daddy used to say
He used to say soulshine
It’s better than sunshine
It’s better than moonshine
Damn sure better than rain
Hey, now people don’t mind
We all feel this way sometimes
You gotta let your soul shine, shine till the break of day”

We all have so much to give to each other. So much sunshine, joy, and love. Even in the darkest days, our souls are powerful. We can impact everyone around us. Let your soul shine

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:14 – 16

“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.” – Luke 8:16

The sun lights our world just as the Son lights are world. We are part of the light. We have the power to change someone’s day. Make a fool of yourself. Laugh. Sing, even if you can’t sing. Dance, even if you have three left feet. You are a powerful person. You are given the light. Let your soul shine in everything you do. The sun may rise and the sun may set, but the Son never sets. Just as you have ups and downs, your powerful soul is there to share. It can be wounded. It can be hurt. But it is full of power and light. Let it shine.

Are you ready to show the world your SoulShine? Are you ready to give of yourselves even when you are down and out? Can you show HIS Love through your soul?

I am willing and able (with the help of God)
