February 6 – I Can’t Focus, My Eyes Are Heavy

2:37 – I Can’t Focus, My Eyes Are Heavy

#faithbites #faithjourmey focus

Blame it on the medications or the travel or the surgery, but I am having a hard time focusing on anything. I am barely able to write this #faithbite. My eyes want to close and my brain shutdown. I can’t seem to focus.

In this case, I have a rationale answer as to why I can’t focus. In our lives though, we have many interruptions and distracters that pull our eyes off the prize and away from Jesus. We need to parse through reasons and always keep our eyes on the prize

Scripture

  • Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. – Colossians 3:2
  • Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you – Proverbs 4:25

Reflection

Chosing a path and sticking with it is hard. Tonight,as my eyes are closing on me, I’m trying to be true to my word and keep writing #faithbites. We are told to keep our eyes on Christ and walk his path. The thing to remember is that Satan and his temptations are always trying to redirect his people. Don’t let that happen too you?

Charge

Tonight’s charge is to recognize that we all get distracted. There are times when we are off the path. The trick is if we stop to think, don’t forget to start again in other words, take a moment to acknowledge where you strayed, beg and receive forgiveness, then get back on the path

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank you for your forgiveness. Remind us to always stay focused and if we aren’t, that you will help keep our eyes on the prize. You will always love us, look out for use and direct us. In your wonderful name, Amen
