Setting

This has been a fun and tiring volleyball season. Its been great to see the girls grow over the past 8 weeks. I’ve had a blast cheering for the teams. My voice is hoarse now and I may have been a bit embarrassing but I had a blast. What I realized is that it is much easier to cheer for your team when they are winning. When they aren’t playing well and getting beaten, its hard to stay enthusiastic and cheer loud. But that’s when our player’s need the most cheers.

We are the same way. When things are going well, we don’t often pray or sing God’s praises. When they are going poorly, sometimes we dont feel we deserve the cheers and praises. But this is when we need them the most.

Today’s Questions: Are you cheering for tbise around you when times arw rough? How to you praise God when your world is crashing down?

• James 5:13 – Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.
• Psalm 104:33 – I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
• Psalm 7:17 – I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.

Reflection

God’s word is clear. We should cheer at all times. When life is up or down, it’s time to cheer. Knowing that is what we are supposed to cheer at all times, doesnt necessarily make it easy. We need to have faith and support of others. This is wuen we need to lean on our friends and family. If you see someone steugglong, cheer them on. You may not feel like cheering but this is what we need to do. Our God is ever present, ever loving, and ever caring. He never turns his back on us or lets us down. We should cheer and pray at all times..

As we close, remember that even if you feel down or others are down, don’t stop cheering. Yell, scream, dance, and support them however you can.

Prayer

Lord God, thank you for our voice. Thank you for never letting us down and always cheering for us. Hemp us when we are up and when we are down. Give us your strength and help us to always seek your love and guidance no matter how we are feeling. We love you and pray this in your name, Amen.
