October 23 – Feeling Disconnected From God?

4:296 – Feeling Disconnected From God?

#faithbites #faithjourney disconnected

Setting

No one has said that I’m quiet and rarely am I at a lose for words. But somelne asled me how I qas feelong about church and my service. The only word Inhave us disconnected. I know my God loves me, I know that he forgives me, and I’m welcome. There just seems to be something missing. I’ve tried to explaon it but I can’t. I don’t know whats going on but know God will get me through it.

Today’s Questions: What do you do when you feel disconnected or disenfranchised? How to you reconnect to God?

Scripture

Psalm 13

O Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever?
How long will you look the other way?
How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul,
with sorrow in my heart every day?
How long will my enemy have the upper hand?

Turn and answer me, O Lord my God!
Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die.
Don’t let my enemies gloat, saying, “We have defeated him!”
Don’t let them rejoice at my downfall.

But I trust in your unfailing love.
I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
I will sing to the Lord
because he is good to me.

Reflection

Today’s reflection will be simple. Put yourself in King David’s shoes. He fell disconnected and that his enemeies qere going to won, but his faith never wavered. He knew God qoild protect him. I know it, its just sometines you feel melancholy and disconnected.

As we close, remember that the church or any number of things may have you feelong disconencted but God will never leave or or let you go.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, please heal my heart. Let me feel connected, loved, and appreciated. Help me to balance my worldly things with what you want me to do. You know what we need and we pray to feel your presence and reenergize us. In your name, Amen.
