4:265 – Pain Before The Joy
#faithbites #faithjourney before
Setting
Today I had an ablation treatment on my back. Its qhere they burn nerves for pain relief. I expmaoned the situation to my best friend and the level of pain I am in right now. He said he was sorry. I told him not to be, as what comes after the pain is relief.
We often experience this cycle. Labor pain before givinf birth. Surgical pain befofe healing. Mental anguish before a breakthrough. Pain dyring a workout before enjoying the results. Our #faithjourney is no different. Jesus tells us we will have trials and tribulations but our reward in immeasurably more than we can imagine.
Today’s Questions: What is your pain a precursor for? How can you use the pain to focus on whst comes next?
Scripture
- Romans 8:18 – I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
- John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Reflection
Sometimes, God’s word can be cryptic as sometimes we dont know how to apply it. This isn’t one of those cases. God is clear. He tells us that we will have sufferings and troubles. He never sugar coats life. What he does tell us is that we will be rewarded for our struggled and our faith in Christ. He has overcome the world and will help us through everything.
i know this pain will go away and I should have some long term relief. Thats something to look forward to. As we close, remember that our pain is temporary but our reeard sith Christ is eternal.
Prayer
Lord God, amny if your people, including myself, are in pain. Be it physical, spiritual, or mental, its hurts. We pray that you take away this pain and let us know that the paon comes before the joy. We thank you for everything you do and love you. In your name, Amen.
