4:247 – In Trouble? Pray. Happy? Sing

Setting

Before COVID, I would always ask my daughter what they learned in Sunday School, and they would reply, “Jesus”. I wanted more specifics but hey, we do what we can. 🙂

I was struggling to find a topic for today. So many ups and downs Ithe last week so I went to the verse of the day, and Jesus always answers.

Todays Questions: What do you do when you are in trouble? What do you do when you are happy?

Scripture

• James 5:13 – Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.
• 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus

Reflection

When times are good: praise God. When times are rough: praise God. It’s that simple. I don’t have the answers but God does. I have good days and days when my head is just spinning.

He is the reason and the light. All we can do and should do is pray, sing, and rejoice. God will make it right.

As we close, just put it in God’s hands. He will make the good better and the bad good.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, we are often at a loss for words on how to express the good and the bad. There are times when we celebrate but forget you and we are sorry. There times when we cry but forget you and we are sorry. We ask for forgiveness.

Lord, help us raise you up in song and praise in all situations. No matter good or trouble. We pray this in your name, Amen.
