4:94 – Easter Birthday – Rise Up!
#faithbites #faithjourney birthday
Setting
Happy Easter. He is risen. He is risen indeed. Hallelujah. A blessing on this special day, that happens to be my birthday as well. I feel honored to share it with Resurrection Sunday. We celebrate Jesus conquering the grave and we celebrated my birthday with family.
During Church we discussed how we all need to Rise Up and take action. Jesus didn’t calmly leave the tomb. He went into action and in hell conquered death. The. He talked to the disciples and gave them marching orders.
It’s time for us to get marching. For some they need a special day like New Year’s Day, their Birthday, Easter, or something else. When your birthday is on Easter, it’s a double wakeup call.
Today’s Question: What will it take to for you to rise up and share the love of the resurrected Christ?
Scripture
- Micah 7:8 – Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me
- Ezra 10:4 – Arise, for it is your task, and we are with you; be strong and do it.”
- Acts 26:16– But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you,
Reflection
Rise up. Don’t wait for a birthday or Easter or a new year. Jesus tells us to rise for we have tasks to do. We should be strong and just do it. In the New Testament, he specifically appears to the disciples and tells them that we are his servants and need to share his word and love.
What are you waiting for? You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t need to know the Bible inside and out. All you need is to share our living and forgiving God. Tell your story. Stand up for someone. Speak the Truth. And above all, rise up.
As a we close on this Easter Birthday, remember we have a God of action who conquered death and got to work before ascending into heaven. Now is the time to work!
Prayer
Lord God, thank you for another trip around the Sun and your Son. We pray for you to give us the strength to rise up and wait no longer. Let us be your children and like you, be people of action. Help us, guide us, and protect us as we get to you. In your name, Amen.
