2:326 – You Are Famous, He Knows Your Name
#faithbites #faithjourney famous
Tonight I went to Guys Night Out at an arcade / bar. Some people I knew, others I knew their faces, but not their names. It was fun to play games and get to know people. My name was known, even if I’m never a celebrity or politician or Youtuber.
Then on the way home, for the second time today, I heard “He Knows Your Name” by Francesca Battistell. Part of the chorus is:
I don’t need my name in lights
I’m famous in my Father’s eyes
Make no mistake
He knows my name
I’m not living for applause
I’m already so adored
It’s all His stage
We are already rockstars on the biggest stage in the universe. It doesnt matter who knows us, our father knows us and has claimed us. Nothing I can do on this earth will be as great as being loved by the creator of the universe.
It kinda makes day to day loving a little easy. Lowers the pressure 🙂
Scripture
- But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. – Isaiah 43:1
- To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. – John 10:3
- “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. – Psalm 91:14
Reflection
No Fear. Steadfast in love. Holds fast to me. Knows my name. You are mine.
These are all words God uses to tall about his children. We have our name in His lights. Our place in his kingdom. What we accomplish or don’t accomplish on Earth doesnt change that. Our father is our father is our father.
We don’t have to worry about keeping up with the Jones’s or how may likes or subscribers we have. We are known and loved by the creator of the universe. That’s pretty awesome to me.
Knowing that we are already famous, we can instead use our time and energy to get to know other people. When we do that, we can help the know God and be named by him.
Challenge
Take a deep breath. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone. You aren’t competing to be famous as you have the great fame of all. Say hello to your father, he’s waiting to hear your voice.
Prayer
Father, thank you. Thank you for taking the time to form me, know me, and keep me as one of yours. We are told by this world that we have to do more, be more, and fight to be famous. Remind us that we are famous to you. We dont need to be caught in the rat race. Lord, we love you and tha k you for choosing us. Be with us as we try to walk in Jesus’s footsteps and help others to know you. In your name, Amen.
