2:292 – Running Errands
#faithbites #faithjourney errands
Today was a busy Saturday: groceries, laundry, cleaning, halloween shopping, pumpkin painting, and all around normal errands. The thing is, we can look at these errands as tasks or opportunities to impact each other.
Wishing someone to have a blessed day at the store. Teaching my daughter to make pancakes. Helping my eldest write her testimonial about how Jesus has impacted her life. We always have a chance to make our errands into life impacts.
Scripture
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. – Ephesians 5:15-17
Reflection
God tells us to be wise and make the most of every opportunity. This means taking every task and turning it into a learning and meaningful moment.
My eldest wanted me to teach her how to make pancakes. I was about to day no and just cook for her. Then I realized that I may not have another chance at this. This is also something that she will look back and remember our time together. We all have these opportunities, it’s up to us to seize those moments. It takes an effort but the impact will last a lifetime.
Challenge
Take an ordinary task and make it extraordinary. Teach someone something. Share something with someone. It will change your life and someone’s else’s.
Prayer
Lord, we are very busy people. We try to run through our tasks to get to the next one. Help us to make the most of every moment. What we see as mundane, may be life changing for someone else. Be with us and grant us the patience we need. In your name, Amen.
