February 12 – Never Gonna Give You Up. Never Gonna Let You Down
2:43 – Never Gonna Give You Up. Never Gonna Let You Down

#faithbites #faithjourney never

I bet you all are singing the song now aren’t you? And no, this isn’t a Rick Roll, but rather a reflection of what was popular and poignant when I had a realization in life.

n high school and college I never was invited to many parties. When I graduated and started my professional career, the same thing happened. After some time, I asked why I never got in invited. The answer was usually the same: We invited you once and you said no, so we figured you weren’t interested.

When I talk about God, Jesus, and my #faithjourney, some respond and some don’t. I keep talking, sharing. and trying even if someone doesn’t respond. The only time I stop is if they say I am not interested and please stop bringing this up.

God never stops giving us chances to be forgiven. We shouldn’t stop trying to share his love, his inheritance, and salvation with everyone.

Scripture
  • Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. – Psalm 105:1
  • “Turn to me and be saved,
        all you ends of the earth;
        for I am God, and there is no other. – Isaiah 45:22
  • Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. – Matthew 5:15-16
Reflection

When I think about evangelism (I hate that term has it’s been twisted), I think a lot of being a parent. I can’t remember how many times I’ve tried to correct my children for different things and they have said No, No, No. Other times when I’ve been ignored or disregarded. Tonight my youngest apologized for kicking me out of the bed last night. I told her that no matter what happens, I will always love you. I will never stop. We have had this conversation many times. I hope she gets it.

When we share our faith with others, we need to be kind and respectful, but never give up. It may seem like a massive obstacle but over time a small stream of water can make a miracle like the Grand Canyon.

Charge

It is hard to share His word. It is also hard to not hold grudges and not just write people off. But our duty is to show our fathers light and glorify him. Take a few minutes to think how you share his word. Have you written people off as unsaveable? Maybe it’s time to reach out and share His Glory. Don’t fret, the Holy Spirit will give you the words you need.

Prayer

Gracious Lord, our world is filled with easy outs. We are surrounded by ways to quit just about anything. Give us the strength to never give up on anyone. Even if we can’t bring them to your house, let you light flow through us and help them. Remind us all that your son never gave up on us and we shouldn’t give up on each other. In your name, Amen.
