August 30 – Headspace Vs Heartepace
242 – Headspace vs HeartSpace

#faithbites #faithjourney headspace

I like to read, watch TV, learn, and talk with people from all walks of life. When I do that, I get so many ideas of things that I want to do. So many places to volunteer, tasks to try, people to meet, and new experiences to enrich life.

Today I was thinking of crafts and activties I wanted to do. At the same time I thought of what I’m already doing. When I thought about that, I realized that the activities I’m mostly able to do require very little headspace and only some heartspace.

When I think of my dissertation that is a lot of headspace and very little heartspace. Likewise when I think of ministering that takes both alot of headspace and heartspace.

To me, I have ample heartspace, but not enough headspace. Headspace is both mental energy and time.

Do you have adequate head and/or heartspace for your callings?

Scripture on Head and Heart

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” – Matthew 22:37

Reflection

Our calling from Christ is simple: Love him with all our heart, soul, and mind. We should do this with every fiber of our being. That is easier said than done
Many times we, myself included, have so much other stuff that our headpsace is cloudy and takes away what feeds our heartspace. We want to be true to the Lord but have to pull back.
In another example, my heart is full of the Lord but my head tries to get in the way. Doubt and rationalization replace the heart’s knowing oftruth.
I love volunteering and doing as much as I can, but if I don’t have the headspace to clearly think about something or the heartspace to do it with passion, the it falls short.

Charge

How do you balance where you spend your head and heart energy? Create a list of all your tasks and put what percentage of head vs heart they are and the overall amount of head anf heart you have to spend. You may be surprised.

Lord, help me to balance my head and my heart as I serve you. Let me make the hard choices that will allow me to live as you want me to.
