235 – Is it Still Nap Time Daddy? Trust
#faithbites #faithjourney Trust
It’s 5:30 in the morning. I am in the bathroom getting ready to take a shower. My youngest comes in her jammies, holding her stuffed animal, and with sleepy eyes said “Daddy, Is it still Nap Time?” She calls all sleep, nap time. I said “Yes, it is honey”. I picked her up, she put her head down, and we walked back to her room and she went to sleep.
Why is this important? There was no yelling, arguing, debating, or anything. She asked a question and took my word at face value. It was still time to rest.
What if we took God, Faith, Religion, and each other at face value? No yelling, arguing, debating, or anything? If we just trusted.
Scripture on Trusting God
- Sovereign LORD, you are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant.- 2 Samuel 7:28
- But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoicesi n your salvation. – Psalm 13:5
- Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. – Psalm 20:7
Reflection
We know there are liars and charlatans in the world. (Yes, I used the world charlatans). There are those who would have us believe in lies, alternative facts, fake news, and everything untrue. If we all believed and trusted in his Word, unconditionally where would we be? If we behaved towards each other in the ways we are told in the Bible, where would we be? I’m sure we would be in a much better state.
I’m not saying we are all the same or act uniformly. We can be united and unique. If we had the trust of my sleepy daughter in His Word, I’m sure we would be much better off.
I’m not saying not to ask questions and dig deeper into faith. We can have faith as well as research and grow. If we all questioned and trusted in HIs Word, I’m sure we would be much better off.

How do you show your trust in the Lord? Do you thank him for his word? Maybe you share it with others? When we trust, we grow.
Lord, help me to trust in your plan and your word. Help me to be strong in my convictions and share that with others.
