206 – Faith, Trust, and a Little Pixie Dust
#FaithBites #FaithJourney Trust
Yesterday’s #FaithBite was that God has a place prepared for you in Heaven. In that #FaithBite, we discussed various scriptures that tell us there are many rooms waiting for us after we pass from this Earth. One friend commented that not everyone has a place prepared for them and that it takes faith and hope.
First of all I both agree agree and disagree. There is no limit to the number of people who can go to heaven. God is the God of all even if you don’t believe in him. I agree that it does take faith in God and Jesus for that to happen.
Second, faith to me is the belief in something you can’t see and can’t touch but you know it is there. Like love, faith is always there we just need to have it. It involves trust and allowing yourself to believe in something greater than you.
Third, trust to me, is believing that what someone says is true, is true. It’s believing in the Word of God and that he is there for all of his children. It doesn’t matter where they are from or who they are, God is there for you and has prepared a place for you.
Fourth, pixie dust is that magical stuff the fairies put on you to fly. While you don’t need Pixie dust to believe, it is hard at times. I have doubts and wonder if I’m doing this right. This is hard, especially with depression and anxiety. When this happens, I pray and know that Jesus has me covered (not in pixie dust but in faith).
Scripture on Trust
- Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always. – 1 Chronicle 16:11 - Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint. – Isaiah 40:28-31
Reflection
I don’t know, what I don’t know. This means I can’t prove there is a God as described in scripture. I can show his creations and how there is no scientific fact that can prove everything without the presence of an almighty being. There are historical records of the time of Jesus and many things in scripture match up. But trying to describe Jesus and God in human terms is like a three-year-old trying to describe Molecular Quantum Mechanics. It can’t happen. I believe because I believe.
I have lived life without belief and don’t want to live that way. There are many of my dearest friends who don’t believe in what I do, some don’t believe in God at all. This is their choice. For me, belief helps me stay grounded and strong through Christ, knowing I am not alone ever. Having faith is difficult when you don’t believe. For me, God provides faith, trust, and a just a bit of pixie dust 🙂
Charge
First, think about what you believe. Do you have faith in that belief? If so, when you are weary can you call upon that belief to give you strength? I find my belief in Christ and he can do all those things. Today’s charge is to really think about your beliefs and find strength in those to comfort you.
I will restate my beliefs and use them to find strength in the Lord with the help of God.
