January 21 – Storms in Our Lives

Today’s Bible verse is about the storms in life we go through. Thank you, Pastor Wirsing for a message that I needed. We all go through storms. We think we can do it on our own. We turn to God during these storms and forget that he is there always. We were not made to go through life alone. God has given us free will, a family, friends, our religious family, and himself. He makes himself known in many ways. During service, we sang the Eye of the Storm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sx8wTnnfSc

I almost cried during the song. I felt grandma today. I felt her tell me that while this is a stormy time, the weather will break. The clouds will part, and the sun will shine. She reminded me to use everything she prepared me for as a youngster. To listen to God and he will be my anchor and surrounds me.

“In the eye of the storm, You remain in control
And in the middle of the war, You guard my soul
You alone are the anchor, when my sails are torn

Your love surrounds me in the eye of the storm”

“Yet when they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, the Lord brought them out of their distress. He calmed the storm and its waves quieted down. So they rejoiced that the waves became quiet, and he led them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his gracious love and for his awesome deeds on behalf of mankind.” – Psalm 107:28-31

“Mmm, when my hopes and dreams are far from me, and I’m runnin’ out of faith
I see the future I picture slowly fade away
And when the tears of pain and heartache are pouring down my face
I find my peace in Jesus’ name”

I pray that you are surrounded in your storms. I pray that you are patient, purposeful, and prayerful. The Lord God is with you all the days of your life.
