January 15 – Regret

Todays Bible Lesson is one of regret.
Regret sucks. We go through life and make choices. Choices to serve. Choices for self. Choices for others. We can’t do everything or be everything to everybody and that ends in regrets. Should have, would have, could have, I was going to. But I never did.
I’m not going to say you will never regret something. We all do as it is impossible to do all things. That is, it is impossible for us, but not for God.
Today I’m dealing with feelings around a close relative who has been given days to live. Something I knew was coming but it was far in the future in my mind. Now all the regrets come. Should have, could have, wish I had.

———
“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.” Psalm 34:4-5

——-
I can’t change the past. I can’t go back and do it again. I can also for forgiveness. I can pray. I can learn in the future. I can look to Him and not have my face covered in shame. It’s not easy but I believe in Him.
