Carrie Underwood may have said it first, but Jesus Take The Wheel. In another episode of “God tell me what I should share today”, the verse of the day is Ephesians 3:20-21. In my life, things seem to be crazy all the time. From social media to the kids ot work to everything, the more I try to hold on, the crazier it gets. I’m starting to learn that I can’t have the wheel. Here’s the thing, the wheel was God’s to start with, we just hold it for him. So let him take it and go along for the ride. All he asks is us to love him and love people.
Today’s questions: How do you give glory to God? Do you ever limit what God is capable of doing?
Life never makes sense when we try to do everything on our own. God, to use 80’s slang, is large and in charge. There is nothing he can’t do. His abilities are beyond our imagination. When I see politicians, friends, and neighbors saying change for our country is impossible or we are never going to heal wounds, I say no. It is possible. We just need to let God in and obey what he says. Our God is a loving God who forgives us, loves us, and wants us to love one another. All we have to do is give him the wheel that is rightfully his.
As we close, are you ready to turn it all over to God? Are you ready to not put limits on what he is able to do? Once we do that, all things are possible.
Father God, thank you for your love and forgiveness. Sometimes we put you in human terms and put limits on what you can and can’t do. Remind us that you created all of this and there is nothing that we can even imagine that you can’t do. Forgive us when we fail in recognizing that. We pray that you help us give you the wheel and follow your rules and enjoy the ride you have for us. In your name, Amen.
