2:353 – The Force Is Strong

#faithbites #faithjourney #starwars force

42 years ago the Star Wars epic saga began. I was just a wee ankle biter. My dad loved the moves and took me to see Return of the Jedi when I was little. We saw the prequel trilogy together. Unfortunately, he passed before the sequel trilogy started. But I was able to take my eldest to continue the tradition. Tonight, after 42 years, the saga of the Skywalkers comes to an end. A day most people thought would never happen. It is bittersweet. There have been good movies, bad movies, weirdness (I’m looking at you Star Wars Christmas Special) and then Jar Jar. But all in all, it has been an epic adventure, and the force has always been present. One that most thought would never end. (Don’t worry, there will be more Star Wars. Just not Skywalker main saga).

Our faith is like that. Jesus came 2000 years ago. That is after 3000 years of the Jewish people waiting for the Messiah. In the 2000 years since Jesus, we are still waiting for him to come. We feel his force in our daily lives, but sometimes we are wondering if he will come back. There have been ups and down, but through him, our lives have been epic. We just need to keep the faith and know we will see him. His Force never fails.

Scripture
  • For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” – Matthew 18:20
  • Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:20
  • Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” – Genesis 28:!5
Reflection

God promises us that he will be with us until the end of the age. He is there when there are two or more gathered. He even begins the Bible by saying he is with us and will go and keep us where we go.

His presence or the force of the Lord is always there. Some days we feel it strongly, only days it’s much weaker. It’s not that God has left us, it is that we aren’t connecting to him. He will never leave us.

When we are feeling disconnected, we need to remember he is there always. He wants us in communion with him. We just need to pray to feel his connection. Just remember, Romans 8:31, If God is for us, who can be against us?

Challenge

The spirit of God, his force, is always present. We just need to follow his word, lean on him, and you will be fulfilled. Turn off your electronics, clear you mind, and pray. You will feel him.

Prayer

Lord, thank you for being strong in or lives. We know there are times when we don’t feel you, remind us that you are there. Help us tap into your strength at all times. We love you and need you even when we think we don’t. Be will us always as you’ve promised. We love you and give you all the glory. Amen.
