My family has been blessed by God to have wonderful things, be financially secure, and take our first real budgeted for vacation ever.\u00a0 During this trip, we did so many things and loved every minute of it. (Well, there were the times when the kids weren&#8217;t angels, but I digress. #Parenting for the win).<\/p>\n<p>Through all the travel, there is nothing like coming home. We unpacked, got the laundry going, watched some TV, the kids were playing, and now we go to sleep in our own beds.<\/p>\n<p>Home is what we all fight for and strive for. Someplace to call our own.\u00a0 A place where we are truly ourselves and can let down our guard. While we work for our earthly home, what about your spiritual home?<\/p>\n<p>Can you see it? Do you visit it often? How do you interact with it? Do you conduct your maintenance regularly?<\/p>\n<h5>Scripture on Home<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/heb.3.4\" class=\"verseLink\">Hebrews 3:4<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/mat.7.25\" class=\"verseLink\">Matthew 7:25<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Unless the\u00a0Lord\u00a0builds\u00a0the house,<br \/>\nthe builders labor in vain.<br \/>\nUnless the\u00a0Lord\u00a0watches\u00a0over the city,<br \/>\nthe guards stand watch in vain. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/psa.127.1\" class=\"verseLink\">Psalm 127:1<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n<p>For my family and I, Jesus is our foundation. He is our cornerstone and our rock. We will weather storms that may bend us and may topple other homes, but not ours. He is building our house daily. It isn&#8217;t easy to follow God in this world. But I know he watches over us no matter what happens.<\/p>\n<p>I hate my physical home sometimes. It&#8217;s getting older, there are many upgrades I need to do to get it where I like it. Not to mention changes to improve it&#8217;s value. At the same time, we need to make sure we are improving our spiritual home.<\/p>\n<p>This means not only ensuring we follow His will, but also contribute to the earthly representation of our spiritual home. This could be tithing or donation. Maybe it&#8217;s volunteering to help expand the ministry. Maybe it&#8217;s just ready His Word. All of these are as valuable to your spiritual home as cleaning and upgrading your earthly dwelling.<\/p>\n<p>I am blessed that in a few minutes I will curl up in my bed and sleep. At the same time, I am blessed that I will do my nightly prayers and give thanks.<\/p>\n<h5>Charge<\/h5>\n<p>How much time and effort do you give to improving your earthly home? Have you thought about spending a bit of time on your spiritual well-being? Don&#8217;t worry, there are many out there who will help.
