\"\"Yesterday, we talked about children going from needing help (Daddy don’t let go) to thinking they can do everything on their own (Daddy, let go). Many times, they still need their parents more than they think. We also discussed how when we tell God to let go, it’s usually the times we need him the most. Today continues that theme.<\/p>\n

Some know that I suffer from anxiety. When I am not in control of a situation, I can get a little upset, a little shaken, and a bit unpleasant. (While medication does help, there are some breakthroughs that I am not proud of). Yesterday, while trying to bring our luggage into the hotel, everything fell off the cart. Not once, not twice, but three times. Let’s just say, I was a little hot under the collar. Not mad at anyone but myself. My oldest said something along the lines of “Daddy, it’s ok. Let me give you a back massage”. This was her sensing I was upset and needed help.<\/p>\n

I was so proud that we have raised a kind, caring and compassionate child, but at the same time upset with myself for showing those emotions and seeing my child trying to help me. Yes, that is part of them growing up. We can’t do everything and our children could help. I just wish it wasn’t in that type of situation.<\/p>\n

Scripture about Daddy and Help<\/h5>\n

Through the praise of children and infants
\nyou have established a stronghold against your enemies,
\nto silence the foe and the avenger. – Psalm 8:2<\/a><\/p>\n

Start children off on the way they should go,
\nand even when they are old they will not turn from it. – Proverbs 22:6<\/a><\/p>\n

Reflection<\/h5>\n

Children are the legacy we leave behind. Jesus talks about letting the little ones come (Mark 10:13-16<\/a>). The Bible is full of references to us being God’s children. I am proud that we are starting our children off on the way they should go. They are children of the love. I know we are far from perfect, making many mistakes along the way. At the same time, I am ashamed that my child sees me like this and reacts, I am overjoyed that she responds in that way and can see real emotions. Our house is definitely full of forgiveness. If my child wants to help, I can see that she is sent by the Lord for comfort.<\/p>\n

Charge<\/h5>\n

Do you have children who come to your aid when you need it? If not biological children, what about spiritual children? While you may be ashamed of asking for help from them, think instead that the Lord may be sending them to help you.
