Maybe it will rain on your wedding day (thanks Alanis) or it will be 120 degrees for your picnic. What if your car breaks down or there is a flood? As we approach the end of a school year, many are closing one chapter and starting another. There is no guarantee that tomorrow will be great or that it will suck. This is where faith comes in. We plan as best we can, we pray, and we turn it over to God. Tomorrow will be what tomorrow will be. We can&#8217;t change it, but we can prepare for some possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Questions:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>How do you prepare for tomorrow? <\/li><li>What do you do if things don&#8217;t turn out the way you think they will?<\/li><li>Do you have a plan B? Do you need a plan B?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/mat.6.25\" class=\"verseLink\">Matthew 6:25<\/a> &#8211; 34 &#8211;<\/em><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>25\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cTherefore I tell you, do not worry\u00a0about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?\u00a0<sup>26\u00a0<\/sup>Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.\u00a0Are you not much more valuable than they?\u00a0<sup>27\u00a0<\/sup>Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>28\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cAnd why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.\u00a0<sup>29\u00a0<\/sup>Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor\u00a0was dressed like one of these.\u00a0<sup>30\u00a0<\/sup>If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you\u2014you of little faith?\u00a0<sup>31\u00a0<\/sup>So do not worry, saying, \u2018What shall we eat?\u2019 or \u2018What shall we drink?\u2019 or \u2018What shall we wear?\u2019\u00a0<sup>32\u00a0<\/sup>For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.\u00a0<sup>33\u00a0<\/sup>But seek first his kingdom\u00a0and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.\u00a0<sup>34\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>We have enough to worry about today to worry about tomorrow. While we have no idea what it will bring, we know that God is already there. We know that the Lord has &#8220;plans to prosper\u00a0you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.&#8221; &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/jer.29.11\" class=\"verseLink\">Jeremiah 29:11<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we close, remember it&#8217;s ok to be a little anxious and nervous as you start a new chapter. Tomorrow might well just suck but it also could be wonderful. Let us prepare, pray, plan, and let <a href=\"http:\/\/roberts-lieb.com\/faithbites\/2021\/03\/31\/march-31-jesus-take-the-wheel\/\">Jesus take the wheel<\/a> (or the whole car). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prayer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord God, today we pray for everyone experiencing change. Be it graduation, retirement, leaving their jobs, starting new jobs, moving, loss of relatives, or whatever is going on in their lives. Please give them peace and comfort in knowing that while tomorrow seems scary you are already there getting it ready for us.
