I&#8217;m sad regarding a friend from church who passed away, in pain from my back, and just ready for a break. Things aren&#8217;t all bad and I&#8217;m fighting with myself not to just <a href=\"http:\/\/roberts-lieb.com\/faithbites\/2019\/06\/17\/june-17-can-i-just-phone-it-in\/\">phone it in<\/a>. God has a plan despite what&#8217;s going on and I need to be an active participant in my life to help and serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today&#8217;s Questions: How do you get energy when you are depleted? What do you do when your mind says go, your heart says ouch, and your body says no?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"scripture\">Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/isa.40.29\" class=\"verseLink\">Isaiah 40:29<\/a> &#8211; He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/exo.31.17\" class=\"verseLink\">Exodus 31:17<\/a> &#8211; It is a sign forever between me and the people of Israel that in six days the\u00a0Lord\u00a0made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.\u2019\u201d<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/rom.15.4\" class=\"verseLink\">Romans 15:4<\/a> &#8211; For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"reflection\">Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Rest is a huge subject in the Bible. God rested on the seventh day, Jesus went off to pray and rest often, God made the Sabbath for rest. But sometimes we think we know better and just keep going.  When we do this not only do our bodies get tired and worn down, so do our spirits. This isn&#8217;t something that can be fixed with a nap or even a vacation. This type of exhaustion needs long term adjustments in our life and a deep connection with God. We have to be active in our lives and choices. It is not easy but God promises us rest!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we close, please take rest and refuge in God. This time of the year is hard for many without newly added losses and stresses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"prayer\">Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Father God, thank you for the promise of rest and restoration. Many of your children are suffering from great losses. Please grant them your peace. Others are suffering from the fatigue of the season, the fatigue of the year, and the fatigue of life. We have gotten to this point because we aren&#8217;t connecting with you and taking our sabbath rest. Lord, we pray for your peace, love, hope, and restoration.
