An example was when I was in 5th grade, I asked a teacher because she gained a bit of weight and was moody if she was pregnant. (Yes, absolutely stupid). Another was when someone needed me but I delayed a few minutes because I was socializing. (What the heck was I thinking). So many of these events are in my past that it clouds my future. I hate myself for them. I know Christ has forgiven me, but why can&#8217;t I forgive myself? How do I just<a href=\"http:\/\/roberts-lieb.com\/faithbites\/2018\/12\/18\/december-18-letting-go-of-mistakes\/\"> let it go<\/a>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today&#8217;s Questions: Why do we hold onto these mistakes when they are already forgiven? How do we truly accept the forgiveness and move on? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/rom.8.1\" class=\"verseLink\">Romans 8:1<\/a> &#8211; There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.<a href=\"https:\/\/biblia.com\/bible\/esv\/romans\/8\/1#footnote1\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/jhn.8.36\" class=\"verseLink\">John 8:36<\/a> &#8211; So if the Son sets you free,&nbsp;you will be free indeed.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>I am a new creation in Christ (<a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/2co.5.17\" class=\"verseLink\">2 Corinthians 5:17<\/a>). The person who did those things no longer exists but yet, I still feel the guilt and the same. If the creator of the universe can forgive me, why can&#8217;t I do it myself? Am I not worthy? God says <a href=\"http:\/\/roberts-lieb.com\/faithbites\/2021\/05\/21\/may-21-live-in-and-with-grace\/\">his grace is sufficient for me<\/a>,(<a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/2co.12.9\" class=\"verseLink\">2 Corinthians 12:9<\/a>) so it must be true.  I can&#8217;t go back in time and change those things. God says those mistakes are no longer on my soul. I guess part of being human is truly acknowledging you messed up and praying for forgiveness. I will work harder on this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we close, remember God had forgiven you all your sins. You need to accept that those deeds were in the past. You are clean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord Jesus, thank you for your forgiveness. Thank you for making us new creatures. Lord, we pray that you take these burdens from our hearts. You told us we were forgiven and clean but we are having trouble accepting it. Help us to accept it and not relieve events from decades past.
