I find something I want and just get so into it, I push everything else to the side. Right now, I&#8217;m obsessed with getting a second 3D printer. I&#8217;ve been doing my research and I want it now. I&#8217;ve even saved up enough, but haven&#8217;t pulled the trigger. Here&#8217;s the thing, I&#8217;m going on vacation in a few days and have other things to do. I don&#8217;t need the printer now. Really, I don&#8217;t need another one period, but I want one. It is ok if I wait on it. Hard for sure, but they say good things come to those who wait. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What does God tell us about waiting? We know we have to wait for him as he does things in his way, at his time, and by his will. Beyond that, what does he tell us? Where is the balance between patience and waiting for waiting&#8217;s sake? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today&#8217;s Questions: What are you waiting for? How do you calm yourself and wait for what is to come instead of rushing it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/psa.27.14\" class=\"verseLink\">Psalm 27:14<\/a> &#8211; Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/lam.3.25-26\" class=\"verseLink\">Lamentations 3:25-26<\/a> &#8211; The\u00a0Lord\u00a0is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the\u00a0Lord.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/ecc.3.1\" class=\"verseLink\">Ecclesiastes 3:1<\/a> &#8211; For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Reflection<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I started writing this this morning in an effort to calm my heart and to help me know that good things come to those who wait. That I don&#8217;t need to be a dog with a bone to get what I want right now. God has a time for everything. Then before lunch, a major life event happened, more on that tomorrow. It got me thinking that time is of the essence. We need to do what we can when we can and not wait. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The real answer is never as simple as I make it sound in #faithbites. It takes work. We need to balance when to act and when to wait. God tells us that he is good to us and when we wait for him to work, we will be rewarded and protected. That is not in doubt. We can&#8217;t rush God. At the same time, as we see in Ecclesiastes, there truly is a time for everything. A time to wait and a time to do. For us, we need to seek God first and ask him if it&#8217;s a season of waiting or doing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I look back on my life, I see waiting seasons that should have been action seasons and action seasons that should have been waiting seasons. Those missteps usually happened when I wasn&#8217;t listening to the Lord. My new printer can wait, spending time with my family can&#8217;t. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we close, remember to be in active conversation with the Lord to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to walk away, and know when to run. Ok, life is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=gDwCMxPwJ_4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kenny Rogers<\/a> but we can learn that there is a time for everything and God will let you know what&#8217;s what. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord Jesus, we pray tonight for peace, comfort, and decisions. Help us know when we need to wait and when we need to act. Your timing is always right. We are often impatient and want answers right away. But that&#8217;s not how you work. Keep us from temptation and help us to make the right decision at the right time.
