We were blessed with a beautiful day to celebrate Jesus and <a href=\"http:\/\/roberts-lieb.com\/faithbites\/2021\/04\/04\/april-4-easter-birthday-rise-up\/\">my birthday<\/a>. We also took a lot of pictures of the day. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. This image by John Scott, says it all. This is what Christianity in a nutshell is. We were dirty sinners and a clean sinless Jesus, bore our cross, took our sins, and died for us. When it was over, we were washed clean. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Christianity isn&#8217;t about doing for others while it is important and living like Jesus. Christianity is realizing that while we didn&#8217;t deserve him, he died to bring us back to God. We are saved through faith. Now, we are commissioned by him to go out, make disciples of all nations, and share his love. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is what Christianity means to me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today&#8217;s Questions: What does Christianity mean to you? How do you as a washed clean servant of God rise up and live more like Jesus?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/heb.9.22\" class=\"verseLink\">Hebrews 9:22<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/isa.1.18\" class=\"verseLink\">Isaiah 1:18<\/a> <\/strong> &#8211; \u201cCome now, let us reason together, says the\u00a0Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/1jn.1.7\" class=\"verseLink\">1 John 1:7<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>From the beginning God loved us. He gave us the law to live and we were unable to keep it. We even made animal sacrifices to try to keep the law. Then, in an ultimate act of love, he gave his Son to be a sacrifice to fulfill the law, so we could be one with him. This is Christianity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not one of us is pure as snow. All of us have sinned and fall short. Life shouldn&#8217;t be who has the most sin. As Jesus said in <a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/jhn.8.7,\" class=\"verseLink\">John 8:7,<\/a>  <em>&#8220;Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone<\/em>\u00a0<em>at her.<\/em>&#8221; There should be no stones cast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is the thing, because of Christ Jesus, we are now clean. He has washed away all our sins and unrighteous. Now we go out and make disciples of all nations because Jesus washed us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we close, remember that Easter and Christianity are about Jesus taking our place. He did this for us because he loves us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Father God, thank you for loving us. Thank you for always wanting us near you. Lord Jesus, thank you for washing us clean of sin and making us your disciples. We pray that you can help us to make good choices and to rise up in service of you.
