We talked about the meaning of <a href=\"http:\/\/roberts-lieb.com\/faithbites\/2021\/04\/01\/april-1-monday-thursday-no-maundy-thursday\/\">Maundy Thursda<\/a>y and <a href=\"http:\/\/roberts-lieb.com\/faithbites\/2021\/04\/02\/april-2-good-friday-redux\/\">Good Friday<\/a>. We all know that tomorrow is Easter Sunday, the day Jesus defeated the grave and rose from the dead. I wonder what the disciples and others thought on Holy Saturday. The horror and tragedy of Good Friday has passed and while they believed that in three days he would raise from the dead, there had to be grief, worry, mourning, and just confusion. Would he come back from the dead? Would the prophecy be fulfilled? What if he didn&#8217;t? Keep in mind, the disciples were now in hiding as well. Remember, none were at the crucifixion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today&#8217;s questions: What would you feel on that day? Have you been in a position on mourning, confusion, and just not knowing if His promises would be kept?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/hos.12.6\" class=\"verseLink\">Hosea 12:6<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Therefore, return to your God, Observe kindness and justice, And wait for your God continually.<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/luk.12.35-40\" class=\"verseLink\">Luke 12:35-40<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; \u201cBe dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps lit. Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door to him when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those slaves whom the master will find on the alert when he comes; truly I say to you, that he will gird himself to serve, and have them recline at the table, and will come up and wait on them.<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/1co.1.7\" class=\"verseLink\">1 Corinthians 1:7<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Our verses today, while not directly related to the crucifixion story, are about waiting and readiness. The disciples believes but did not know. We have faith in Jesus, but sometimes, at least for me, I doubt. I know he is there, but sometimes, I wonder when it will happen. We see that we should always wait for our God and be ready no matter what. Jesus told us he would come back to the disciples and he did. He told us he will come back again for us and he will. It is just a matter of his will and his way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fear is a tool of Satan. While fear can move us forward, we can never forget that Jesus fulfills his promises. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we close, don&#8217;t fear. Jesus will rise. He is risen. He is Risen Indeed Halleluiah. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord Jesus, thank you for reminding us that you always fulfill your promises. Help us when we are mourning, worried, or in doubt. Just like your disciples, we wait for your return. Give us your hope, your love, and comfort. We know the day of your return is soon. Help us to stay strong and always in faith for you.
