Today, my friend, posted the picture that we are using here. Before we dive in, YOU ARE WORTHY. If you are like me, you may not feel like that from time to time. Even in the church, we say we aren&#8217;t worthy of what Jesus gives us. Here&#8217;s the thing, we are made worthy through Christ. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m a broken sinner and I know you are as well. When we think about that brokenness and sinfulness, it&#8217;s so easy to get down and depressed. As someone who suffers from depression, it can get deep. But, and this is a big but, GOD sent Jesus to save us. Through Jesus, we are now saved! We are made worthy. <a href=\"http:\/\/roberts-lieb.com\/faithbites\/2018\/07\/04\/july-4-mistaken-identity\/\">Our identity is no longer that of a sinner<\/a> but of a saved child of God. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter how bad it gets, you are made clean and worthy through Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today&#8217;s questions: Why do you let others make you feel not worthy? How do you claim your identity? If you accept you are worthy, how do you use it to share Christ&#8217;s love?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/mrk.1.11\" class=\"verseLink\">Mark 1:11<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; And a voice from heaven said, \u201cYou are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.\u201d<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/rom.5.8\" class=\"verseLink\">Romans 5:8<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/2co.5.17\" class=\"verseLink\">2 Corinthians 5:17<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>If we believe that God is King and his word is true, then no one can tell you that you aren&#8217;t worthy. In our scriptures, first we see that God called Jesus his Son and gave him his identity. Then Christ gave his disciples an identity, then he asked them to make everyone in the world a disciple. He gave us our identity. If that wasn&#8217;t enough, God showed his love through Christ&#8217;s death. Finally, we see that we are a new creation through Christ. The old has passed away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What does this all mean? It means that we are made clean through the forgiveness of our sins, we have an identity through Christ that we can never loose, and we are loved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will mess up. We will sin. No matter what, we can and are made worthy through Christ. We just need to believe. Stop and think about this for a minute. You are loved, forgiven, and are worthy to be loved. This is the power of Jesus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we close, how does being made worthy make you feel? What will you do now to share the forgiveness and love of Jesus with everyone you meet?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Father God, thank you for our identity in you. Thank you for never giving up on us. Lord, we ask you to help us not to listen to the world. So many tell us we are bad, not good enough, and not worthy. You gave us an identity in you first, no matter what. Let us remember that identity. We pray that you will warm our hearts and accept how much you love us. We also pray that you help us to not look to the world for our worth but to you for all sense of worth.
