Many though feel insecure. In less than 24 hours, two of my friends shared this feeling. One was how her co-workers were treating her and the other was lack of communication from a new love interest. In both of these situations, the person felt insecure because of how the other person or people treated them. In other words, how people treat us leads to feeling insecure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why is this? Why do we let others define us with their words? How can we move beyond the judgement of others let God define us?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/1jn.4.18\" class=\"verseLink\">1 John 4:18<\/a> &#8211; There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.<\/em><\/li><li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/rom.12.2\" class=\"verseLink\">Romans 12:2<\/a> &#8211; Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>I suffer from a sense of insecurity. Often I feel I&#8217;m not good enough or what I do isn&#8217;t good enough for others. Heck, on New Year&#8217;s Eve, I could a standing ribeye roast for time and overcooked it. It was more medium well than medium rare. It was good but I couldn&#8217;t let it go even though others say it was good. I was insecure about my cooking and felt others were lying to me. Just as my friend felt insecure because her co-workers were talking bad about her and my other friend who&#8217;s love interest has been lest than talkative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we look at God&#8217;s word, he tells us not to be conformed to this world. That our worth isn&#8217;t in the eyes of man but in his eye. God has made us in his image for a purpose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we go further into this new year, focus on how you feel and how God loves you rather than how others interpret you or your work. Try you best, fail, and work harder because you want to grow not because others say to. Find those in Christ who support you and want you to succeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Challenge<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>What is your number one insecurity? What makes you stop feeli good about yourself? First step, toss it to the side. You are loved by God and his opinion is the only one that matters. Second, him and his guidance in all you do. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Father God, help us to seek approval only from you and not from the world. Let us cast away our fears and embrace love. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let us cast away the judgements of the world and follow you only.
