Maybe you just want to vent to someone about it to get it off your chest. Is that ok? Is it biblical? It depends on how you do it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My back is a hot mess today and I want to scream. The kids are going back to e-learning for two weeks and several of my friends want to vent. Is it wrong? No. We need to get these emotions out and venting to a friend can be a good way to do it. Don&#8217;t be sorry, lean on your friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/mat.12.26\" class=\"verseLink\">Matthew 12:26<\/a> &#8211; And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/eph.4.29\" class=\"verseLink\">Ephesians 4:29<\/a> \u201cDo not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>When we vent, we need to strike a balance. It&#8217;s one thing to unburden yourself to a friend and seek solace. It&#8217;s another to use it to gossip and tear down one another. We can&#8217;t keep all these emotions in nor should we use it as an excuse to be hurtful or hateful ourselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is tricky. I have found myself venting and using hurtful words towards my loved ones. It&#8217;s part frustration, part anger, and part being upset with myself for not handling it better. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s a life long challenge to balance venting and being a good Christian. The wonderful thing is when we fail, Jesus forgives us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So invite Jesus into your venting session, choose a trusted friend, and go for it. Release the emotion and follow God&#8217;s word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Challenge<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you have a venting buddy? Someone who will listen to you, not judge, and help you with whatever is ticking you off? If not, find one. Heck, I will be your venting buddy if you need one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord Jesus, you give us powerful emotions and reactions. Help us to find healthy ways to vent and not ruin relationships. Give us patience and understanding on how to handle these challenging situations. It&#8217;s tough for sure and we seek your love to help us balance this. Let us vent and grow in a way that is pleasing to you.
