I just feel the exhaustion setting in. Maybe it&#8217;s the 17 hour day of election judging or COVID &#8211; 19 fatigue or election fatigue or dissertation or whatever. Maybe it&#8217;s a cold or I&#8217;m just feeling weak. Whatever it is, I&#8217;m just plain exhausted. I know I&#8217;m not alone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For many of us, 2020 has been a big bag of suck. Deaths, illness, division, jobs, economy, covid, fake news, and more has led to this moment. While I know my God never tries, we do. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How can we move from a state of exhaustion to a state of rest? From a state of despair to a state of rejoicing? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Scripture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/isa.40.28\" class=\"verseLink\">Isaiah 40:28<\/a> &#8211; Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/my.bible.com\/111\/mat.11.28-29\" class=\"verseLink\">Matthew 11:28-29<\/a> &#8211; Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5>Reflection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>I think the road from exhaustion to peace is two fold. One is knowing that our strength comes from he who does not faint, grow weary, or tire. His everlasting love and strength permeate everything. Knowing that he knows all and can conquer all leads us to him as refuge. Then, as we see in our Matthew text, Jesus tell us to come to him when we are weak. New to me, is the second part of this passage. Not only will he give us rest, but he invites us to learn from him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus doesn&#8217;t just forgive and save us, he teaches us how to have a light yoke and how to live in peace and harmony. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We just need to act on it. We can&#8217;t judge others but love them like He loves us. Our role is to live for Christ, follow His word, and not spread hate and deceit.  Finally, we need to rest knowing that He is God and will conquer all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today is a hard day. I&#8217;m physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted. My sport, while tired, will not bend or break as Jesus knows the answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Challenge<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>How are you feeling today? Do you need rest and restoration? Take your exhaustion and your hurt and trade it for Jesus&#8217; yoke. You will find it light and he will teach who how to live this way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5>Prayer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Father God, America needs you. We are awaiting who you want to lead us. Help us in our disagreements. Be with us as we struggle to follow your plan, in your way, and by your will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord, I&#8217;m exhausted and know I&#8217;m not alone. Please provide your healing hands and your comforting heart to all of us. We need to feel your or presence Lord.
