Before we get started, I wanted to give a trigger warning that this faithbite my challenge, offend, and question your thinking a bit. But hey, isn’t that why we are all on this #faithjourney together? And now onto today’s faithbite.<\/p>\n

Death to the Infidel<\/p>\n

58 dead. Men, women, and children. 2,700 injured. Did you know? Did you say a prayer?\u00a0Did you care? Most of us didn’t know as it didn’t happen here, but in Gaza at the border with Isreal. Some who did said the protests were violent, and they deserved it. Fighting rocks and sticks with guns and gas. This isn’t\u00a0an equal amount of force needed for protection. This was over killl. When those who are killed are non-American, non-christian (or Jewish), the prayers seem even less. Is not everyone my neighbor? (Luke 10-25<\/a>-37) And you should love your neighbor as yourself? (James 2:8<\/a>).<\/p>\n

When I listen to those who say it is justified, look to what our President as doing what is right in moving the embassy. Many Evangelical Zionests\u00a0believe this is fufilling the scripture to bring about the end of days and the return of our Lord. Faithbites is not a political blog. It is not about tearing down people but rather lifting people up in faith. Being a former practicing Jew and person of Jewish heritage, the events in Isreal are personal and raw. They impact how I feel. When I see innocents dying, it moves me. It should move us all.<\/p>\n

“You shall not murder” – Exodus 20:13<\/a><\/p>\n

“And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting.\u00a0I will demand an accounting from every animal.\u00a0And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.<\/span>\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cWhoever sheds human blood,\u00a0by humans shall their blood be shed;\u00a0<\/span>for in the image of God has God made mankind.” – Genesis 9:5-6<\/a><\/p>\n

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself” – Luke 10:27<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

We shall not kill. We shall not take freedom of life that God gave from another. There are times in defense when we need equal force to stop our lives and freedom from being taken. But bullets against rocks when non-lethal\u00a0methods are available. We should love all mankind – male and female, Christian and non-christian, white and non-white, American and non-American. We are all God’s children. We should feel the pain of their loss. We should pray for peace and love, not assign guilt.<\/p>\n

I apologize for the political tone in this faithbite. I hope that you can see the Lord wants us to love all people.<\/p>\n

Can you see how your tone can show or hide the Lord from people? Can you see how you care or not care reveals your true spirit? Are you ready to embrace all life as sacred?<\/p>\n
