On my way to vote today, I thought a lot about when I was a kid, as I wanted to be President of the United States. I thought that the President was the only person who could really make change in the world. As I grew older, that changed but the idea that I had to be in public office or a position of power didn’t. While it’s slowly changing in my view, the world still puts a lot of importance on those who are famous or in positions of power. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are so many other places that God puts us that we can have a dramatic change on the world. It may be a small breeze compared to a hurricane, but it does change the world. Think about this. How much time and effort do we put into who will be the next President of the United States? What about who will be the teacher who will help your child read, the librarian who will help you get the resources and information you need? What about the social worker who will give unselfishly of their time and energy making sure you and yours have what you need? These are just a few examples and I could share many other occupations where the person makes a difference. In the long run, it’s not necessarily the position but the person in it. While the President has a lot of positional power, how much power does God give you to change the world?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
